Each episode features the ever-talented Smoove and new material from a mix of rising stars and long time favorite comics, with music by DJ Cassidy.
They’ve done it again! Russell Simmons and Stan Lathan have teamed up to create a new series that features stand up comics. This is not the first time Simmons and Lathan have worked together, the two previously paired to produce the widely popular Def Comedy Jam, as well as the Comedy Central hit Russell Simmons Presents Stand-Up at El Ray.
On Thursday, January 26th, the dynamic duo will debut their latest show, Russell Simmons Presents The Ruckus. Hosted by comedian J.B. Smoove, it will air on Comedy Central at 10:00pm/10:30pm ET/PT.
The show will be the first of a six, half-hour episode series, premiering with a back-to-back episode … that means double the laughs! Filmed at New York City’s Edison Ballroom, there are over 18 comedians that you will get to see take the stage.
One comedian to look forward to seeing is the host, JB Smoove. Smoove is known for his character Leon on the hit show Curb your Enthusiam, and also played Trucky in the movie Pootie Tang. We know his skills are tight becuse he has already hosted the show Russell Simmons Presents Stand-Up at El Ray.
Also, taking the stage will be Capone, who has performed on Shaq’s AllStar Comedy Tour, and Tony Roberts who has performed in HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, BET’s Comic View, and It’s Showtime at The Apollo.
Those are just a few of the very talented and funny comedians that will leave you buckled over and teary-eyed from laughter!
